Paul Philpott, Managing Director

Paul’s broadcasting expertise stems from a career in the radio industry.  He freelanced at BBC Radio One before returning to the West Country to study Media Production at Plymouth College of Art and Design.  He started working at Plymouth Sound Radio where he soon found himself part of the on-air team of presenters. As well as being talented behind the microphone, and one of the region’s best-known radio personalities, Paul headed up the station’s Promotions department making it one of the most successful in the TLRC group of radio stations.

By 1997 Paul was being steered towards managing his own radio station but decided to set up his business instead; the award-winning Fresh Air Studios.  He continued his on-air commitments, presenting the highly successful breakfast show until 2007.  By then the success of Fresh Air Studios meant more of his time was needed there so he left regular broadcasting to concentrate on his business.

He has kept his hand in the broadcasting and presenting world – he was invited to become a director of Your Radio Ltd to work on local radio licence bids and has compered and presented a number of high profile events for charity.  Outside work Paul enjoys martial arts and holds a 2nd Dan in Kickboxing and a Black Belt 1st Dan in Eskrima. He is also a personal trainer at the weekend with Sobey Fitness.

Daryl Jenner
, Audio Production Manager

Daryl began his radio career as a broadcast assistant at Severn Sound Radio in Gloucester, moving to Galaxy Radio in Bristol before joining the news features team as a researcher at HTV television in Cardiff.  But his first love was always radio and he moved back into the medium, working as a news reporter at CAT FM in Cheltenham before taking a three month secondment to work with the station’s sister operation in Plymouth.  After 7 years, and a promotion to News Editor, he crossed over from journalism to PR – first with the Ministry of Defence then heading up the press department at Welsh National Opera in Cardiff.

He moved back to Devon in 2013 to work with the press office team at the Theatre Royal Plymouth and was delighted to have the chance to join the team at Fresh Air Studios.

In his spare time he enjoys running and keeping fit, eating cake, going to the theatre and watching anything in black and white on the television.

Alison Anderson, Audio Branding Consultant

Ali started her highly successful radio sales career in the south west in the late 1980s.  Over a period of twenty years she became Sales Director and Regional Training Manager for Global Radio at South Hams Radio.   Her passion for radio as a product aided her success there and, in relation to the station’s size and listening area, she delivered the highest revenue of any radio station in the group.

After working on the launch of a brand new radio station for Plymouth - Plymouth Radio - Alison joined Fresh Air Studios in 2011 where she specialises in on-hold telephone marketing, as well as providing innovative ways of using audio to enhance internal & external communications.

Away from work Ali is mum to Charlie, so is busy with school runs, homework and swimming lessons and is looking forward to ICT after school clubs and Charlie joining the Beavers.  She enjoys spending time with her family and socialising with friends.  Although she’s a recent convert to the great outdoors - camping, horse-riding and body boarding - she also enjoys clothes, shoes, handbags and gossiping!

Jo also worked on the launch of Radio Plymouth before joining Langdon Court Hotel as Marketing Manager, creating their Internal Comms systems.  Jo joined the team at Fresh Air Studios in 2015.
